Light up the night

Two free family nights on the lawn and in the parking lot at LOFT City Church in Richardson. Candy, carnival games, bounce houses, food trucks, and a movie under the stars. Everyone in the neighborhood is welcome.

NIGHT 01

Trunk or
Treat

Saturday, October 31 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A row of decorated trunks hosted by LOFT and local student ministries, carnival games, a fall photo backdrop, and bounce houses on the soccer field. Costumes welcome for kids and grown-ups.

  • Candy at every trunk, including an allergy-friendly teal pumpkin trunk
  • Ring toss, bean bag toss, plinko, duck pond, and prizes
  • Toddler bounce house, combo bounce house, and an obstacle course
  • Food trucks on site for dinner and dessert
  • Free family photos at the fall backdrop
NIGHT 02

Movie on
the Lawn

Sunday, November 1 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Bring blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for How to Train Your Dragon on the big screen as the sun goes down. Popcorn is on us. Now showing: How to Train Your Dragon

  • Pre-show games for kids starting at 5:30 p.m.
  • Movie starts right after sunset, around 6:45 p.m.
  • Hot cocoa and popcorn, free

Parking

  • Park in the upper lot. The lower lot is closed for the trunks.
  • Volunteers in orange shirts will point you to the entrance.
  • Accessible parking is right by the front doors.

Weather

Both nights are outdoors. If the weather turns, we'll post an update here and on our Facebook page by 6:00 p.m. the night before. If you let us know you're coming, we'll text you.

You don't need a ticket. Signing up gets you a text reminder the afternoon of the event, an entry in the family door prize drawing, and helps us put out enough candy and popcorn.

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. Candy, games, bounce houses, photos, popcorn, and the movie are all free. The food trucks sell their own food, so bring a card if you want tacos or dessert.

Do we need to belong to LOFT to come?

No. This is for the neighborhood. Most families who come will be meeting us for the first time, and that's the point.

Are costumes okay?

Costumes are welcome for kids and adults. We'd ask that they be family friendly, since there will be lots of little ones around.

What about food allergies?

One trunk will be a teal pumpkin trunk with non-food treats and allergy-friendly options. Look for the teal pumpkin sign.

Who can use the bounce houses?

There's a toddler unit for the littlest kids and a combo unit and obstacle course for bigger kids. A parent or guardian signs a quick waiver at the field entrance, and volunteers keep the lines and age groups sorted.

What if it rains?

We'll make the call by 6:00 p.m. the night before and post it here and on Facebook. If you signed up, you'll get a text.

Will there be photos?

A photographer will be taking pictures during the event. If you'd rather not be in them, let a volunteer at the entrance know and we'll respect that.

Can I get there in a wheelchair or with a stroller?

The lot and the walkway to the field are paved. The soccer field is grass. Accessible parking is by the front doors, and restrooms inside the building are open both nights.
